Wemby is a 1 year-old black-and-white, smooth coat male Jack Russell Terrier with an undocked tail. Quite stocky and muscular at 17 pounds, he came in with his mom who is 3, from a questionable previous life.
This little Jack can be a little fearful and barky when he first meets people, but once there are treats and kindness involved, he’s an absolute love bug. Then belly rubs are encouraged! An extremely high energy little dog, he can run forever and never tires of playing. He has no idea what chasing a ball means, but he certainly enjoys tearing squeaky toys apart and strewing stuffing all over his kennel.
This adorable JRT appears to be housetrained, but does not like being confined in a crate. Barriers frighten him and make him quite upset. Wemby is learning to walk on a leash now, but really has so much energy that he prefers to run. He rides very nicely in the car, and would probably enjoy adventures once he is settled in a home and feels safe.
This Jack Russell absolutely needs a fenced yard, and someone to offer him enormous amounts of exercise and things to keep him mentally active. A JRT who very much enjoys sitting on a dog bed outside and watching the world go by.
Wemby gets along really well with his mom, and they play very well together. We have not tested him yet with other dogs but there is a possibility he might do okay with another female. A Jack Russell savvy home would be ideal, and we love to see him venture into a new world before the end of the year.
Might you be willing to teach him what a Jack Russell life with love means? Apply to Adopt Wemby or as a pair with Lola his mom.
