Charles

Charles a.k.a. Charlie Boy is a brown and white male Jack Russell Terrier, who is a little over-year-old and weighs a muscular 16 pounds.

This delightful JRT had a rough start to life; two homes with absolutely no training, living with people who had no knowledge of the breed and limited vetting. Jacks Galore was quite happy that we were contacted to help place him, as he definitely needed some de-stressing and learning to be trustful. The unknown and strangers scare him.

Once Charlie boy trusts you, and it will take quite a bit of time, a few days in JG’s case, he is an absolute delightfully sweet dog. Loves his belly rubs with tail wagging and a sweet smile on his face.

Extremely high energy, nonstop go go go, he will absolutely need someone to be able to help him release all that enthusiasm and keep him very busy. He loves to play ball, he’s great on walks and enjoys long strides making his person keep up with him at a rapid pace.

This jack did live with another dog, so it probably would be best if he had a companion to guide him, set an example, and to show him the way of becoming a family member. A fenced yard is necessary, as it will take him some time to feel comfortable with his new family. Charlie was crate trained, but does not enjoy being in one and becomes distressed when the door is closed.

Typical JRT, he loves toys, is definitely a chewer, and will need to be kept busy and occupied. Charles will need a refresher on house training, but he gets it, it just needs to be reinforced.

Charles will be adopted out to a home without children, as he needs to have calm surroundings in order to gain trust and know that he is in a safe place. He has come a long way since we’ve taken him into rescue, and hopefully ready to go to his new home in a few of weeks with the lucky person who will give him a chance and the time to live a meaningful Jack Russell life.
