Ellie and Jeb came into our care when a family with a health crisis contacted one of our rescue partners. Their owner with terminal bone cancer and a family coping with small children and care of the home. These two lovely, and very much loved pups needed to find a safe spot to land.
Ellie is a 1 ½-year-old brown and white smooth coat female Jack Russell Terrier and her brother Jeb a 2-year-old tricolor rough coat male Jack Russell. Both came from the same breeder, but 6 months apart.
They are very bonded, so we would like to place them together in one home. Extremely loving, friendly and very very active. High energy!
Jeb is the more outgoing and confident of the two, he is very high prey drive, very athletic and extremely enthusiastic about life. Jeb just loves to give tons of kisses and his tail is constantly wagging. He walks beautifully on a leash, but definitely is a hunter and will search every nook and cranny of a stone wall or digging the field looking for mice.
Ellie, his sister, on the other hand is a little more reserved, shyer, but warms up quickly when she knows her people and relies on Jeb for guidance. Also extremely athletic and walks great on a leash. She too is a hunting terrier.
Both dogs are very well housetrained, are crate trained and do well in the car. After their outings they are lap dogs and snugglers.
There is no doubt these dogs were very much a loving part of the family. We want to find them that secure spot once again where they both can thrive and continue to enjoy each other’s company. The pair can play chase, literally forever, never seeming to tire out. Speed demons the two of them. A fenced yard is truly imperative as they both love to run enthusiastically. Ball chasing also seems to be something they enjoy, although retrieving is not in their repertoire! They do love to tears things apart in typical Terrier fashion, but right now they are extremely bored and need to be in a JRT active home once again.
