Vinnie the Victor

HEADED HOME to his foster mom, Vinnie is going back to his roots, to be loved and adored as he was when a pup.  All the kids are now settled, Jacks Galore cannot ask for anything more!!! Vinnie is a 12 week old jack mix whose mom was a Parson’s jack, who our rescue partners help whelp; his dad?  Doxie, terrier, who knows; but a small size for sure. Naturally docked tail, gorgeous brindle coloring (his litter mates were tan and white and are already in their forever homes); Vinnie is smart, brave, beautifully socialized and ready for a very […]

That Time of Year

Jacks Galore is late in giving some easy gift suggestions for the holidays, but we’ll still do it as many of us are late shoppers and anyway there’s STILL time!!  This year we have several wonderful suggestions for your gift giving and hope you’ll take advantage of them and also support those people who support rescue.  One of our adopters, Betsy Miller, sells these Elizabeth Swift Designs and has created a special collection of Jack Russell Terrier-themed bracelets and necklaces to benefit the extraordinary work done by the volunteers of Russell Rescue, Inc.  All profits from the sale of these […]

Adoption Successes

Adopting can be very unpredictable: finding homes for jacks coming into Jacks Galore is a give and take depending on the dog.  JG always has some great applications waiting for new family jacks and each time it’s a matter of timing as dogs steadily come in and go out.  Two amazing jacks just came and went quickly and that makes us so grateful, but it also shows that people waiting might not get first dibs on a dog they’re interested in.  This is why we ask people to put in apps even if they’re not ready or don’t see a […]

Giddy GiGi

ADOPTED!!!  off to VA hunt country she ventures, to join her doxie pal for fun and games in their fenced in yard; to fill the shows of a much beloved departed jack.  A family who understands the breed, and will  enjoy her youthful antics and give her what she needs to excel in the world of “jackness”.  Enjoy your long happy busy life Gigi, you so deserve to live it like a jack. Sweet, smart, young, exuberant, affectionate: an adorably small 12 pound 18 month old tricolor smooth coat gal jack, GiGi is the life of the party with her […]

Confused Colin

In permanent foster forever more, a jack who has a hard time handling what life throws at him, a dog who needs peace and quiet with and smart jack people who can offer him what he needs.  We will allow Colin to be calm, relaxed and not ask much of him so he can be comfortable in his surroundings.  A better choice for this jack. Colin is a confused jack who’s not sure why he’s lost his home.  A 4 year old tricolor smooth coat male of about 18 pounds, Colin came to us at Jacks Galore when he was […]

Jeffy is a 4 year old tricolor smooth coat 16 pound male who came to us from a high kill shelter.  Heartworm positive when we pulled him, he was treated at the vet’s then had the obligatory months of rest, and is now recovered and ready to go to his forever home. A gentle jack who adores people, he craves your attention and on his long hikes reverses direction every so […]

Zippy Zorro

ADOPTED!!!  Staying in MA he will now be able to play ball whenever he wants, and be at ease without much competition for his toys or anything else he desires; including his human.  A dog who will now be understood and happy.  Happy days ahead. Athletic, quick, ultra smart: these are just some of the superlatives that describe Zorro, an 18 month old Parson’s rough coat jack who landed at Jacks Galore when his second home could no longer accommodate his needs with all its roommates and work schedules.  A tricolor, 10 pound, lean racing machine, Zorro NEEDS to play […]

Magnificent Mac

ADOPTED!!!  Mac, a slimmer version than in this blog, went “home” on a sunny November day with a family who already had adopted Silva from Jacks Galore.  Their older jack, Mac and Silva all hit it off and off they went.  He will be busy in the yard, have long walks, get to play with his jack pals, be loved and most of all safe and calm.  Mac is a very special jack mix, a very loving, cuddly jumper of a dog.  Found wandering in a parking lot he now no longer needs to look for handouts from passers by. […]

Optimistic Odie

ADOPTED!!!!  A Good Samaritan jack owner on Long Island saw his face, her heart melted: she had to intervene.  Odie the jack’s days were limited, his number up.  How could that be?  4 years old, healthy and kind – she had to step up to the challenge and save him. Her first foray into saving a dog long-distance proved very cumbersome, difficult and time-consuming but she persevered.   Jacks Galore was asked to find him a home and help with logistics to speed up the process.  We were able to help with some close rescue contacts, who in turn had connections […]
