ADOPTED!!! A quick email from an adopter who already has two Jacks Galore jacks, with a note they loved his face and would we allow him to join their pack? Too happy to oblige, so JG alum Dutchess and Cote came, visited after a long drive – all went well – off One Eye went. The report is good, found his snuggle partners real quick, and he has settled well. Enjoy the rest of your senior years Jack, you so deserve to be loved till the end!!!
Jack is an extraordinarily wonderful dog. A young adult at 8 years of age, he has a hop to his gait hardly seen in the young ones around him. A lovely rust and cream Irish jack, he’s a handsome small male of 15 pounds with a thick smooth coat and a lovely pattern on his hind legs as if he’s wearing chaps.
There isn’t a dog or person Jack doesn’t like, greeting one and all with a wagging tail and a twinkle in his eyes. Well, one eye. Found with an ulcerated eye beyond healing, the only kind thing to do was to remove it so he would be out of pain and able to maneuver the world with his one good eye. It hasn’t slowed him down: he runs like crazy, manages to weave in the woods, and has the dog door down pat even in the dark of night – nothing seems to slow this guy down.
Jack came to Jacks Galore when a rescue partner asked us to step in and help him find a home; he had been pulled from a shelter on his “exit” date, with everyone agreeing this jack deserved to be saved. Very house trained, good in a crate, Jack has many youthful years left and longs to be someone’s special companion, and if there’s another jack in the house, all the better.
This canine good citizen would make a wonderful therapy dog, he brings great joy to all who meet him, and perhaps you’ll come and meet him too. Jack’s eye will catch your gaze. Jack is temporarily residing in the Jacks Galore residence and is a splendid addition to the family.
