Every year we are asked to give our supporters and adopters a wish list for the jacks. And every year I do not think we deviate far from what’s wanted and needed from the years before.
Most loved by the jacks are of course tennis balls with squeakers, stuff less toys, plain cookies, cheap little stuffed toys with squeakers in them that can be torn apart and shredded for fun in minutes, and really anything that YOUR jack enjoys our jacks in the kennels will love as well. A very meaningful gift and one that serves us every month is for people to sign up with our monthly donation. When JG knows that every month $10,15,20 or even $100 comes our way on a regular basis we are able to make plans ahead of time for the number of jacks we are able to take in knowing that we will be able to cover vet bills and their food. A monetary donation via PayPal, or check to our PO Box is always appreciated; and know that 100% of the proceeds we receive all go towards the dogs.
Our biggest bills are vetting and food. We always feed the highest quality, and we always do everything required to keep our dogs healthy and to make them ready to go to their forever homes. We also have 20 sanctuary jacks, most of them over the age of 14 who are in constant need of vetting, medications, and specialized food.
You can also use Amazon Smile for your shopping purposes and every time you buy something through this program they support our rescue three times a year by sending a very small percentage of your total purchases. And this stuff adds up!
Of course the truth is what we’d really like every year for Christmas is dogs to go to their forever homes. There is no greater gift that anyone can give us than to come and adopt a JG jack. They are wonderful, active, funny, intense, troublesome; but oh so lovable. As you all know once you have a Jack you never go back!
We want to thank all of you who have supported us over this last year, those of you who have adopted, have volunteered/transported or reached out to help us in other ways, grateful for our rescue partners and those of you who have always been there for us with much needed help in the past. We have a wonderful following of Facebook friends now; adopters who show off their new found family members, Jack owners who share their antics and supporters who always seem to be there when we need you. We so enjoy staying in touch with all of you, we learn a lot, we laugh a lot, we shed tears together, but most of all the glue that holds us all together is the love of the breed; the amazing Jack Russell!
I wish you all many blessings for this holiday season, whether it be a Merry Christmas or a Happy Hanukkah or some other wonderful way to celebrate the season. All I ask is that you be thankful for what you have. We are grateful for all of you, for all of the jacks who have passed through our doors and those little lives that we have saved and who have touched our hearts. Remember each Jack that has found their home has been given another chance at life, and to them that’s the biggest gift anyone can give a dog. Thank you, thank you.
