Another jack on his way to Jacks Galore to fill the void of those that have passed this year. After a plea for help from a rescue partner down south, Max is coming from Florida where there are so many dogs in need that the shelters are overflowing, and many lose their life waiting.
Surrendered because his family could no longer afford to keep him, with severe eye disease and cataracts, his one eye had to be removed to relieve the pressure and give him some comfort. With limited vision in his cataract eye, Max is heading up to Massachusetts to live out his life with the sanctuary pack.
He has already begun his journey with the wonderful Jeff of Pilots and Paws in his marvelous Cessna in flight to Alabama where our supportive rescue partner has a foster holding him until he can make his way up to us in the North. Most likely in early August he will present himself to the clan.
A lovely sweet, mild-mannered dog, mellow and aged, we assume him to be close to 13 or 14 years; hopefully with a few years left to enjoy the acres for hunting chippies, grass to roll in, patios to sun on and numerous dog beds from which to choose for napping. JG mom and dad have a deep sense of love for the oldies, a belief in giving those as much love and attention as possible for the limited time they might have left.
We always feel that if a dog has been loved, even for a week before it passes, then it will know that humans are kind and there are people in this world who care for them and have their best interest in mind. We’re looking forward to introducing you to Max when he arrives, and enjoying his “jackness” with the time he gives us.
