Doting Dot and Boomerang Bonnie

Now both gals have found their forever homes, Bonnie can celebrate the new year in style, she went home to CT with a former adopter and her new pal Wills – he as not so sure about this boomerang jack but they are both already sharing the couch.  A lovely ending for two gentle dear wee jacks who gave life their love and we were able to give them back a secure forever future.  Thank you to Carlene and Lee who stepped in to pull them from a questionable situation and get them to us for adoption.  Success for 2013.  […]

Omnificent Otis

Otis is a Jacks Galore dog who came to us from Russell Rescue in VA a few years ago. At the time the marvelous VA rescue rep was working with us to place and save a lot of jacks, but one at her end stood out in her mind and we were asked to step in and help. He had been abandoned, and as a stray had been on the road for a long long time. Flea-infested with infected skin, Otis was saved by this great rescue group. A charming face with a battered body and a personality matching the […]

Gifting: More Ideas

We said we’d add another write-up on some more favorite gift ideas for the holidays, so here it is. With our deep freeze November temps in MA we are ever so grateful for the well crafted and beautiful fabric dog jackets made by Foggy Mountain Dog Coats. All made in the US, they are well fitting and warm. We really like the snugglers for the JG jacks but they make several styles with different fabrics. These coats will last a long long time, modeled here by Roy and Buttons. With winter in full swing and many months leaving us in […]

Being Thankful on Thanksgiving

Jacks Galore has an enormous amount to be grateful for, 19 rejected jacks, a beagle and a chihuahua, to call our own (yes, but they do not ALL sleep in the bed), wonderful dogs waiting to be adopted into their forever homes, a huge emotional support system in the dog community we have been working with these last 12 years, a family that knows we are crazy; but best of all readers and Facebookers like you. You all make it rewarding, fun and most of all possible. JG is ever so thankful, thus the thanks in Thanksgiving. BUT on Thursday […]

‘Tis the season

It’s that time of year again, and JG loves to share with friends the fun places to look for some out-of-the-ordinary surprises. First you must go to Leslie Hemsing’s website and see her marvelous one of a kind cards for all occasions. BUT we are most delighted to point you in the direction of the Jacks Galore card http://www.willowwalkcards.com/index.php?id=WWC610, a typical winter day for the JG terriers, snow shoeing around the property to stay active and enjoying the winter weather. Willow cards thought to take our picture to new heights so all could share in the fun. Leslie has made […]

Rocket Man Rocky

Rocky is an 8 year old little 12-pound tan and white rough coat boy who enjoys nothing better than to play with his tennis balls, forever. An emotionally abandoned jack, with so much love to give, Rocky needs a very specific home, and we know you are out there. Rocky needs a fenced yard, size not so important, but he requires a dog door to access during the day because Rocky was never housetrained. If he has that door; then clean as a whistle. This ball of fire and amazing snuggler wants to pee when he needs to, so when […]

Joyous Jetta– STILL waiting

ADOPTED!!!!! Jetta the jack/border collie mix at Glenn Highland Border Collie Rescue in Morris, New York, is STILL eagerly awaiting her forever home. She is more jack than BC, so people visiting the farm to adopt are not drawn to her like us jack people would be. Who can ask for a better sport mix, a more gregarious companion to keep you busy, active and happy? This young 8 month old pup is a VERY petite 30 pound adorable charmer (put her next to the purebred BCs and you’ll see). She is extremely sweet and wants to meet everyone who […]

Merlin the Magician

Merlin came to us from Russell Refuge many years ago. After being given up twice he landed lucky with Jacks Galore who gladly tolerate his quirks and idiosyncrasies. Merlin is a major marker (pee bands are best for your dog if this is a habit you’re unable to break, no need to give up your dog because of this. Plenty of belly bands on the market), but aside from this oh so annoying habit, Merlin is a marvel. When he first came to Jacks Galore he was a ball fanatic, the ball was his security blanket, for the first month […]

Bella ………… Bellissima

Off to her new home, a retired dog mom who has only had deaf dogs.  No Bella will be blessed with sign language training and a fenced yard that is secure where she can enjoy the outdoors and not let her hunting skills get the better of her.  She is now residing in CT with a lot to do, long walks, accompanying mom everywhere and meeting some dog friends who live near by.  A splendid life ahead for a remarkably smart jack who never knew her deafness was a problem.  happy trails Bella, hear the world around you!! Bella, a very […]

Home for the Holidays

Abe and Oreo will have their own forever homes just in time for the Thanksgiving festivities and all that great food for those fortunate enough to have the bounty available. Abe has a family to call his own that will keep him very busy in eastern MA and a pal who is studying journalism at UMass. Perhaps Abe could be the subject of some of his assignments!! There was an instant connection with Abe’s new family, he just sidled up to them and decided he had to go home with them, no apprehension anywhere to be found from this gentle […]
