Winter Blues

It has been a rough winter for everyone including Jacks Galore, but throughout the miserable blustery cold snowy months we managed to still have fun and get all the dogs out every day for walks or a short play time in the snow, except for maybe a few of the worst snowfalls when we were busy shoveling, chipping ice and snowblowing paths. Warm coats kept all the charges toasty, lots of toys were distributed, and marrow bones were the treat of choice for the long afternoons inside the confines of the kennels; NPR the station of choice!! We brought in […]

Bodacious Buster

ADOPTED!!  Sometimes a family comes along that just matches up to a dog like it was meant to be.  Amazingly tolerant Buster, now named Rugby, loves the crazies he can initiate with his new jack pal Tanko, but still sidestep the jack gal in the house when she gets crabby or does not want anyone to have fun!!  Off to Connecticut where there are romps on the beach, crazy games in the house and places to snuggle when tired out by a day of activity.  There are three people to love.  Rugby, you will flourish, and since mom is a […]

Lovable Lucy

ADOPTED!!  Finally after many weeks of waiting, Lucy found, what was beginning to seem like an elusive, home.  With jack savvy parents, a senior, but very active jack pal Dallas to keep her busy and happy, Lucy zoomed of to eastern MA where she will never have to have visions of outdoor living or crate nights again.  A bed to snuggle in, lots of activity to keep her busy and always a kind and gentle word and hug for this very special and gentle girl.  Lucy, like all of the Jacks Galore jacks, was ever so deserving of that  wonderful […]

Rambunctious Roxie

ADOPTED!!  Roxie was adopted to a wonderful busy family who took this darling little girl all the way to Maine to enjoy lots of room to run and people to play with, but best of all a mom who works from home.  Spoiled and adored will only be two of the wonderful things Roxie can look forward to her in her new and happy life.  Cautious at first, her new family all bundled up in winter garb, she soon realized treats were to be had, belly rubs ever offered and a young boy to play ball with, what more could […]

Dandy Andy

Adopted!!!  on a cold spring day in late March, Andy left for his forever home in MA, not far from Jacks Galore.  Jumped into his new car seat, tail wagging all the way, he will be with his new fur parents constantly, both who work from home in the field of art and publishing.  Lucky Andy.  Already he has been showered with toys and affection.  A very special jack, he tore at our heart strings here, tough to see him depart, it was easy to shed tears of joy for this amazing dog.  Off with a skip in his stride, Andy […]

Joyful Jaimee

Jaimee found her forever home on Cape Cod in MA and is not only living a life of activity but has a jack pal who is handicapped and with whom she loves to play, kindly and very gently, true to her style.  Her fur parents make healthy gourmet dog treats and she gets long walks on the beach, goes everywhere with them and snuggles in the many dog beds placed around the house.  She has settled in well, is clean and now knows she will be forever loved; any issues that might have been, are no longer.  Enjoy your life Jaimee and do […]

Robust Roy

Roy is a JG kennel lifer who came to us from Russell Refuge and gives us more joy than anyone can imagine. A long legged smooth coat handsome fella, Roy is a true gentleman. He is not fond of other dogs at all, there was one with him in the past but since then he would rather they not be around. People he has contact with he has grown to like, and he greets our walking neighbors with quiet joy and tail wags. Now in his early teens, Roy had one liver health scare a couple years ago but was […]

What’s in a Name?

We had a fabulous “name that dog” contest a few weeks ago on our Facebook page for Scout pictured above, and received the most wonderful boy jack names, a list we’ll keep handy. We’ll actually be using it very soon since we have quite a few no-names coming to join the pack. The little dog in this contest ended up being called Scout but it went down to the wire between Scout and Winston. In the end we took a vote and Scout won by a hair. So many people participated that we ended up with 68 marvelous suggestions for […]

Precious Pair

Macy and Buster’s mom left this earth and they are now displaced and temporarily living with a kind friend of the family; but this is but a short-term solution. Preferably the two would like to be homed together as they have spent their entire lives as a team, but if there is no home for the pair then splitting them would be a possible option. Macy, a lovely white rough coat 11-year-old female champion jack, has competed in many a race at terrier trials, go to ground, and lure coursing and is ribboned to prove it!! Buster, a black and […]
