Awesome Abe……Apprehension no more

Abe was adotpd on a brisk fall day in November and off he went to enjoy walks on the beach, ball playing in the yard and boating in the spring with his own family of three to adore him forever.  Abe not only blossomed at Jacks Galore but became the jack he was meant to be, full of desire to live in the now.  Good luck Abe, your confidence will shine in your future.

Abe has truly blossomed during the two short weeks he’s been at Jacks Galore and is showing us his true loving and gentle nature. Abe is all about enthusiasm, with his rapid progress we did the kennel dog door training and with some extra effort he learned its use in just 20 minutes. Now he too zips in and out like the other jacks and the cold winter air in no longer infiltrating the nice warm interior where the heating has been on with the cold that has arrived this late in October. Yeah Abe. Of course all those tasty treats sure were an added benefit.

Really?

Really?

Abe starts his classes with Lisa from Family Dog School at Berkshire Humane Society in Pittsfield, MA on Thursday. We will do one-on-one to see what he likes to do and what he already knows.

Abe is enjoying his new walking partner Wills. Although Wills is going back home in just a few days (he came to visit for a month) they’ve been enjoying their long 3 mile walks sniffing out the chipmunks from the stone walls that line our trails and then racing with the balls in the agility field in the late afternoons.

Waiting for Abe

Waiting for Abe

Abe’s tail is now constantly in motion, and even though we haven’t yet heard him bark, he is so emotional about all activity and new toys are a source of amazement. He is a very polite eater; there are not many treats Abe seems to like, although he does favor the Wellness soft treats and takes it so very gently and proper from your fingers. Abe then smiles and his eyes gaze deeply. He is a lovely leash walker and listens to his name quickly and comes at your call, a very polite dog and always returning to give you a leap, smile or kiss to acknowledge he is enjoying his day.

Abe will make a terrific family dog, he loves to play ball, runs like the wind, tug of war is tops and just some gentle strokes on his soft velvety head are all he seems to ask of his person. Ready for love as they say, come and appreciate this very adorable young man.
